The MSAB has long had a commitment to developing a physical education program for its students. For much of its history, the MSAB’s only athletic offerings were Tumbling, Track, and Wrestling. In 1957, the academy introduced a new building to its campus, called the Activities Building, which included a swimming pool.

The academy is currently a member of the North Central Association of Schools for the Blind (NCASB) athletic conference, and participates in state championships for all offered sports excluding Goal Ball, which competes with local high schools.
