This is a photograph of a track race taken on the MSAB grounds. The picture is black and white, and old. It was taken in the mid-20th century. The photo is slightly scratched, and blurry. Athletics is written at the bottom of the photo in thick black ink. Two teenage girls run towards the camera on a dirt and grass track. They are wearing school uniforms that are slightly too big, their neckties are flying in the wind, and their skirts are being tossed up and down. Both girls have short, chin length hair and bangs. The face of the girl on the right is turned towards the other girl, glaring at her opponent slightly, eyebrows furrowed; she is falling behind. The girl in the lead is looking straight ahead, she is intense, focused. They are sprinting. An old man in a suit and a straw fedora is standing behind them at the starting line, watching them race. He is at the very center of the image, in the background. Behind him are two large, old trees, casting shade. Behind the trees is a blurry building, with white steps. On either side of the track is grass that comes up to above the girls’ knees.
